England Intermediate Hotel Training Course
The England Intermediate Hotel Training Course provides, for friendly and positive-minded people the opportunity to train with a first class international hotel in the United Kingdom. The hosts hotels range from small independent hotels (150 rooms or less) to medium sized 4 star hotels (more than 200 rooms). Aspire Internshipsa will match the intern with the most appropriate hotel based on the intern’s background and future career goals.

Introductory Hotel Training
Successful applicants to this program with hotel experience and high English ability will be
able to get a suitable high level program based on their ability. Other applicants with little or
no hotel experience and low English ability will work in sections that require less English ability.
These sections include housekeeping and cleaning. As the intern improves in their English ability
and understanding of the hotel policy, the hotel will decide whether to advance the intern into
restaurant, bar or other basic service positions. If the intern toward the end of the program
continues to advance in ability the intern may be able to experience sections such as reservations,
customer service, the front desk or concierge desk.

Interns will begin training by observing for a small period and getting instruction from managers in
each divisions. It is critical that interns show concentration and take notes during this instruction
period. When the intern begins to gain confidence and understanding of the nature of the position
they will be allowed to participate. It is understood by hotel that this is a new and challenging
experience and that the intern will seek help. All interns are treated very well but as equal members
of the hotel team. This means that you will be expected to work hard to contribute equally to
the hotel team. Just like also in Japan, working hard, keeping a good attitude with customers
and co-workers makes a successful internship program.
The length of the internships varies between 6 to 12 months. After receiving the application
and registration fee from the intern, approximately 1-2 months are required before the intern can depart.
It is understood by hotel that this is a new and challenging experience and will seek help.
This is a learning program for the intern. You must demonstrate that you will work
hard, take notes, and have enthusiasm.

Compensation
This is a full time internship program of usually a minimum of 40 hours per week. Often interns work 5
or 6 day weeks with one or two days per week for holiday. Aspire will carefully go over
all expectations and work details with the intern to assure a successful program.
The pay range will vary with skill and past work experience between 600 pounds to 900 pounds per month
(approximately 120,000 yen to 180,000 yen). This amount will be more then enough to
cover homestay or private apartment, transportation, and other small personal expenses.
For people who are careful with their money maybe have some savings at the end of
the program for travel in England and Europe.
Aspire will assist the intern in searching for housing. Often we can negotiate with the hotel to
house the intern in a staff dormitory for a minimal cost. Other times we can assist in helping
locate an affordable and safe apartment near the hotel.
